Job Description

AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a 6-month evening contract at California State Prison, Corcoran in Corcoran, CA (Medical, 8-hour shifts).

Assignment details

Location: California State Prison, Corcoran (COR), Corcoran, CA
Dates: 11/23/2026 - 05/23/2027 (6 months)
Shift: Tuesday-Saturday, 1:45 PM-10:15 PM (8-hour shifts, 30-min meal)
Orientation: 1 week; on-the-job training 4-6 weeks
Cerner EHR and basic computer skills highly desired

Responsibilities

Assist with patient care, vital signs and activities of daily living
Document care accurately and report changes to nursing staff
Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures

Requirements

Active California CNA certification (CDPH)
Current BLS (AHA)
Correctional experience preferred
Background check and facility security clearance
TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
