Job Summary

Provides personal care assistance to patients under the direction of licensed personnel and/or Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care duties as assigned.
• Rooming of patients during clinic hours, including obtaining and documenting vital signs as needed.
• Assist Registered Nurses (RN) with implementing and monitoring of treatment plans to support coordinated patient care.
• Obtain test results, surgical clearance documentation, and other clinical records as needed.
• Possesses the ability to perform day to day clerical task and related duties.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities.
• Maintains exam room medical supplies and support the upkeep of clinical sterilization equipment.
• Completes FMLA documentation for review by RN's and MD's.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience

Minimum Required:

• Minimum of one year experience working in a clinical setting.

Preferred/Desired:

• Experience working in a general surgery clinical practice.
• Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
• Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.

Education and Licensure

Minimum Required

• High School Diploma.
• CMA Certification from an accredited certification body (or certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire date).
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Preferred/Desired

• Ability to speak Spanish.
• Experience working in EPIC EMR system.
