We are seeking a proactive, results-driven Catering Sales Manager to grow catering revenue through new business development, strong client relationships, and effective sales follow-through.

This position sells weddings, social events, corporate catering, and other assigned business, including wedding associated guest room blocks. The ideal candidate takes initiative, works independently, and collaborates effectively with our Sales, Events, and Operations teams.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of catering sales experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or event venue.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business, negotiate contracts, and achieve sales goals.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities, prioritize effectively, and follow through with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with sales and catering systems and standard office software.
  • Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, local networking events, and business travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed established catering and associated guest room revenue goals.
  • Proactively generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community involvement.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, qualify opportunities, and maintain consistent follow-up to convert leads into confirmed bookings.
  • Conduct engaging site tours and client presentations that showcase the resort’s event spaces, amenities, and services.
  • Develop proposals, negotiate terms within established guidelines, and prepare accurate contracts.
  • Recommend menus, event spaces, and enhancements that meet client needs and maximize revenue.
  • Maintain accurate account records, sales activities, booking details, and revenue forecasts in the sales system.
  • Coordinate a thorough handoff to the Events team, clearly communicating contractual commitments and client expectations. Assist with event detailing when assigned.
  • Build repeat and referral business through ongoing client relationships and post-event follow-up.
  • Partner with resort departments to deliver a seamless client experience and resolve concerns constructively.

What Success Looks Like

You consistently build a qualified pipeline, meet revenue goals, and maintain accurate, timely documentation. You take ownership of your work, bring solutions to challenges, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues. Your bookings reflect both the client’s needs and the resort’s business objectives.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position operates in a fast-paced resort environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. The team member must be able to move throughout the property, conduct extended site tours, attend off-site appointments and industry events, and work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Occasional travel is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
