Position Summary:

The Building Manager is the on-site leader during shifts and is largely responsible for supporting other student staff, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring all guests feel welcome and safe in the SUB. This role requires a candidate who has strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adherence to Student Union Employee Handbook guidelines.
• Provide clients with exemplary customer service and details necessary for their events.
• Ensure the building is opened and closed according to guidelines, and proper building procedures are followed by guests and staff.
• Complete daily reports and communicate all necessary information to supervisors.
• Participate in necessary training and attend mandatory meetings.
• Responsible for ensuring the building opens and closes according to guidelines.
• Ensure the setup and/or breakdown of equipment in spaces according to the reservation specifications by delegating and directing work and assisting when needed.
• Report any changes in setups to operational leadership.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment; ensuring all equipment is returned to the appropriate storage area when not in use.
• Ensure that all equipment is always in fully operational condition and report any problems to the supervisor.
• Alert supervisor when there is a need for ordering/replacing equipment or supplies.

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-management skills
• Ability to have a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience in customer service and leadership roles
• Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
