Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an Aviation Infrastructure Leader for Florida. You will lead innovation, growth, and excellence in airport planning, design, and construction management.

In this role you will be responsible for executing large-scale technical and strategic assignments to address airport planning, capital infrastructure, and program management priorities for our airport clients throughout the state of Florida. Our Aviation Team is taking airport design to the next level. From roadway to runway or full terminal design, your career will soar to new heights. This position may be based in Tampa, Orlando, Coral Gables, Miami, West Palm Beach, Deerfield Beach, or Jacksonville, Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead high-impact pursuits in Florida’s aviation market—identify opportunities, build winning teams, and secure major contracts.
• Grow our brand by engaging with industry organizations like AAAE, ACI, FAC, ASCE, ACEC, and WTS.
• Expand our reach by collaborating across business lines—Community Development, Buildings, Environmental Services, and PM/CM.
• Develop and negotiate proposals as project issues arise with clients or reviewing agencies.
• Perform client outreach and site visits in support of pursuing new clients.
• Prepare technical approach narratives in support of proposals and SOQs and approvals.
• Liaise with clients, agencies, and other stakeholders to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
• Serve as Project Manager, Project Director, Principal, or Subject Matter Expert on major airport infrastructure projects.
• Be a connector—build strategic relationships with airport authorities, counties, and cities.
• Develop and negotiate proposals as project issues arise with clients or reviewing agencies.
• Perform client outreach and site visits in support of pursuing new clients.
• Prepare technical approach narratives in support of proposals and SOQs.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Develop and expand key client relationships resulting in consulting services engagements.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and innovation across disciplines and geographies.
• Play a key role in hiring and mentoring the next generation of aviation engineers.
• Oversee project delivery with a focus on quality, budget, and schedule.
• Responsible for providing quality assurance/quality control reviews of project design documents/reports.
• Perform as lead on technically complex projects and acts as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS

Capabilities and Credentials:

• Proven success delivering projects for small, medium, and large hub airports in Florida.
• Strong technical skills, proficiency with project scheduling and management software, comprehensive knowledge of FAA and Aviation Regulator Standards/Requirements, and a proven track record for leadership, mentorship, and project success are all essential.
• Demonstrated ability to identify new and expanded consulting services opportunities. After winning new work, a proven ability to plan, design, and deliver capital / urban projects.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a team of specialized employees and contractors in a coordinated and integrated manner.
• Experience working in a consulting engineering environment, Project/Program Management environment, or Construction Contracting environment.
• Experience is required in the management of project and/or program budget and cost control functions including budgeting, change management, cost estimating, forecasting.
• Ability to present technical information to executive level staff.
• PE license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 60 days); licenses in other states a plus.
• Excellent computer skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in airport infrastructure design, project management.
• PE license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 60 days); licenses in other states a plus.

Pay Transparency:

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
