Pay range: $138,000 - $167,000

About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing and highly respected engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP) to join their New York team. This high-impact leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence, team leadership, and client development. This position goes beyond traditional engineering design—you will play a key role in building teams, strengthening client relationships, and driving project success across multiple engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical (HVAC) design efforts on a variety of projects
• Develop construction documents, including drawings and specifications
• Support and guide junior MEP engineers and design staff
• Manage projects to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project partners
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver successful project outcomes
• Participate in site visits and support construction activities as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
• 7+ years of experience in MEP design/consulting
• Revit proficiency is a must
• Proven team leadership and management experience
• Strong project management background in MEP environments
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Deep understanding of HVAC system design and building codes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering license or equivalent experience
• LEED Accreditation
• Experience with IES-VE or similar energy modeling tools
