Assistant Service Manager

Pay: $42,000 annual base salary plus uncapped monthly performance bonuses

Friendly Powersports is looking for an organized, customer-focused Assistant Service Manager to support our Baton Rouge Service Department. This role helps keep the shop running smoothly, supports the service team, and turns a positive customer experience into repeat business.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Service Manager with daily department operations.
• Coordinate with service advisors, technicians, and the parts department to keep repairs moving.
• Monitor repair orders, scheduling, and customer updates.
• Help resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
• Support accurate repair documentation and timely repair-order closing.
• Help grow service business while maintaining quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

What we're looking for

• Experience in powersports or automotive service, service advising, or shop operations.
• Strong organization, communication, and follow-through.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy service department.
• A customer-focused approach and the ability to work well with a team.
• Leadership experience and familiarity with dealership management software preferred.

Compensation

The position pays a $3,500 monthly base salary, plus uncapped bonuses tied to department performance.

For March through December, bonuses are calculated on monthly Service Department gross profit:

• Portion of monthly service gross profit Bonus rate:
• Above $95,001 through $110,000 - 8%
• Above $110,001 through $135,000 - 10%
• Above $135,001 + - 15%

Each rate applies only to the dollars within that tier.

Examples of total monthly pay, including base salary:

• $110,000 in service gross profit: $4,700
• $125,000 in service gross profit: $6,200
• $140,000 in service gross profit: $7,950
• $150,000 in service gross profit: $9,450

For January and February 2027, the plan provides a seasonal bonus equal to 10% of customer-pay and warranty labor sales growth over the same month in the prior year, or the standard gross-profit bonus, whichever is greater. Internal labor is excluded from the seasonal growth calculation.

Bonuses are calculated after month-end close and paid on the following payroll, subject to the compensation plan's terms. Actual earnings depend on department results.
