ASSISTANT PROGRAM MANAGER

Shalom House is looking for a compassionate, organized, and team-oriented Assistant Program Manager to join our residential services team.

As an Assistant Program Manager, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, supportive, and empowering home for adults living with severe mental illness. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team, build meaningful relationships with residents, support their goals, and help guide the day-to-day operations of the program.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Build positive, respectful relationships with residents and support them in identifying and reaching their personal goals.
• Develop, monitor, and update treatment plans and provide individual and group support focused on daily living skills, coping strategies, and personal growth.
• Advocate for residents while protecting their privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Provide crisis intervention and help connect residents with appropriate community resources and services.
• Administer and document medications according to agency policies.
• Coordinate care with families, guardians, community providers, and other professionals.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation, progress notes, and MaineCare requirements.
• Help maintain organized, accurate, and compliant resident records.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to direct care staff in the absence of the Program Manager.
• Assist with staff supervision, scheduling, coverage, team meetings, safety meetings, and daily program operations.
• Help create a welcoming environment that encourages connection, healthy socialization, independence, and personal growth.
• Participate in special projects and other program needs as they arise.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, organized, and ready to be part of a team.

You’ll bring:

• Experience providing direct mental health services, including individual support, supportive counseling, group work, interviewing, and community outreach.
• A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field preferred.
• 2–3 years of relevant residential mental health experience preferred.
• Current MHRT-I certification and the ability to maintain certification.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Leadership skills, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing needs.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Completion of Mental Health Technician I coursework within one year of employment and eligibility for immediate provisional certification, as applicable.

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM Occasional evening or weekend flexibility may be needed.

Starting at $29.35/hour
