Assistant production manager

Job Responsibilities & Duties

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for the safety and productivity of the day shift production crew. They are also expected to fill in as Production Manager during absences. Train new employees on safety standards and the quality management system. Oversee the training of new employees on job-specific procedures. Assist production manager with supervision of the day shift work team. Operation of the production lines including performing routine in-process tests, optimize production rates. Effective trouble-shooting of process and maintenance issues to minimize downtime. Daily tracking and weekly reporting of temporary employee time sheets. Ensure compliance with all JRS policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School diploma. 2 years of first line supervision experience preferred. Strong sense of urgency regarding plant operations, quality and safety. Effective at communicating with all levels of the organization. Adept in use of MS Office, Outlook, Excel and Word.
