The non-clinical bioanalysis team within the Translational Medicine Unit (TMU) LabSci department at Sanofi is searching for a co-op to join their team. This team develops bioanalytical assays to understand pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) and interacts with allied functions for first-in-human (FIH) dose predictions.

This co-op will be a part of the dynamic team, and work on developing novel LC-MS-based methods to support non-clinical PK/PD.

Main Responsibilities:

• With supervision, design, develop and fit-for-purpose qualify PK LC-MS assays in preclinical setting for biologics and AOCs (Antibody oligonucleotide conjugates).
• Develop sample preparation approaches such as protein precipitation, solid phase extraction, Immunoprecipitation, enzymatic digestions etc.
• Develop LC-MS/MS and LC-HRMS for intact protein analysis, middle-up approach or bottom-up approach.
• Use these methods to characterize pharmacokinetic profile of constructs, including integrity analysis.
• Analyze samples to support pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic analysis for discovery and preclinical studies.
• Report and discuss bioanalytical and biomarker results with integrative knowledge of how the data contributes to the drug development process.
• Actively contribute to scientific discussions.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a PhD degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences or related health sciences at an accredited college or university, with an expected graduation date no later than Dec 2028.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship.
• Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship.
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) concepts and their role in drug development.
• Expertise in at least one mass spectrometry platform: either high-resolution mass spectrometry (time-of-flight or Orbitrap) or triple quadrupole mass spectrometry.
• Good understanding of protein analysis on at least one of the following platforms: Thermo, Waters, or Sciex.
• Experience with at least one extraction technique for protein quantitation in biological matrices (plasma and/or tissues), such as protein precipitation, solid phase extraction, immunoprecipitation, or enzymatic digestion.
• Knowledge of proteomics tools, including protein database queries and protein sequence analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience utilizing (AI) artificial intelligence tools for drug discovery and development.
• Scientific curiosity, appetite for teamwork, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to develop and/or qualify bioanalytical assays.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $57 hourly. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
