Job Description

Harvest Group is an integrated commerce agency that helps high-growth consumer brands win in today's complex retail landscape. Since 2006, we've partnered with some of the world's most recognized brands to navigate the intersection of in-store and digital commerce, retail media, and social platforms across leading retailers including Walmart, Sam's Club, Target, Amazon, Costco, and Kroger.

What sets Harvest Group apart is our connected approach. By aligning strategy, execution, and insights across every stage of the retail journey, and powering that work through our proprietary technology platform, we help brands create sustainable growth in an increasingly dynamic marketplace.

But our success starts with our people.

At Harvest Group, our culture and values shape how we work, serve our clients, and support one another. We believe in building meaningful relationships, pursuing excellence with humility, and creating an environment where talented individuals can do their best work while continuing to grow professionally and personally.

Our Values

  • Integrity – Doing what is right in all things
  • Relationship – Pursuing depth, trust, and collaboration
  • Service – Laboring for others with humility and care
  • Excellence – Delivering extraordinary performance and results with humility
  • Journey – Embracing our past and planning for our future with faith

Harvest Group Tunisia is the third branch of the Harvest Group company, which opened in 2016. Its main responsibilities are:

  • Data reporting and insights: standardized and optimized reports and performance trackers for U.S. teams and clients
  • Analytical storytelling: leveraging data to tell a compelling story
  • Software development: supporting the dynamic needs of our team
  • Tool creation: building easy-to-use solutions to complex data problems
  • Data operations and cloud data management: building and maintaining data pipelines from source systems to cloud data storage, and retrieving data from a wide variety of sources

About the Role

The Data Engineer II independently owns the development, deployment, and maintenance of data pipelines and models that power Harvest Group's data products across retail partners including Walmart, Sam's Club, Target, Amazon, Costco, and Kroger. This role works across the full pipeline lifecycle, from translating product requirements into technical designs through production monitoring and incident resolution. The Data Engineer II applies data architecture thinking alongside data operations execution, contributing to both the design and the reliability of Harvest Group's data platform.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of data pipeline features: requirements gathering, design, build, test, deploy, and monitor.
  • Design and implement transformation models including complex incremental strategies, snapshots, and cross-database references.
  • Write performant SQL transformations, optimizing for cloud warehouse execution patterns and compute cost.
  • Author and maintain orchestration DAGs for pipeline scheduling and dependency management.
  • Partner with product managers and analysts to translate business questions and reporting needs into durable data structures and models.
  • Contribute to naming, metadata, and documentation conventions that keep business semantics clear and definitions consistent.
  • Troubleshoot production data issues independently, performing root-cause analysis and implementing fixes.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery, collaborating directly with product and business partners.
  • Mentor Data Engineer I team members through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to shared engineering standards: style guides, testing patterns, and documentation templates.
  • Partner with product support to resolve escalated data quality issues with root-cause fixes.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related role.
  • Proficient SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines in a production environment.
  • Experience with a SQL-based transformation framework (dbt preferred).
  • Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred).
  • Strong version control practices (Git) and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities across concurrent projects.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with U.S.-based teams and clients across time zones.
  • Ownership mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

  • Experience authoring and maintaining DAGs in an orchestration platform (Airflow, Astro, or Prefect).
  • Python proficiency for data processing and automation.
  • Understanding of data modeling patterns (dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions, data vault).
  • Working experience with CPG or retail data (Kroger / 84.51, Walmart / Luminate, Nielsen, Circana).
  • Experience with data quality frameworks and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with a BI platform (Looker, Omni, or similar).

We encourage all interested candidates to apply.

Please note that we only accept resumes submitted in English.
