As the Senior Specialist, you will lead manufacturing capability assessment, deployment planning and scale-up readiness, connecting innovation projects with the most appropriate factory, technology and investment pathway.

You will build a strong understanding of manufacturing capabilities across the region, enabling faster decisions on where products can be made, what changes may be required, and the likely equipment, investment and timing implications. You will influence key manufacturing, technology and investment decisions to ensure new products are deployed through practical, scalable and commercially viable routes.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Deployment

You will work closely with Product Development, Engineering, Technical Competence Units, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, factories and co-manufacturers to:

• Build and maintain a clear view of relevant manufacturing capabilities, capacity, technologies, equipment and operating constraints across the region.
• Identify credible manufacturing locations and deployment routes for new MILO Snacking opportunities.
• Provide clear early recommendations on technical feasibility, manufacturing fit, key risks, dependencies and indicative timings.
• Work with Product Development to ensure concepts and prototypes are designed for manufacturability and scale-up, developing preliminary process concepts and manufacturing pathways that enable successful regional deployment.
• Create and coordinate integrated technical deployment plans, including key decisions, trials, handovers and readiness milestones.
• Lead the technical preparation and coordination of pilot, factory and co-manufacturer trials.
• Identify technical risks early and connect projects with the right expertise to resolve them.
• Translate product and process learning into clear transfer packages for receiving manufacturing teams.
• Capture and share learning to strengthen future deployment decisions across sandwich biscuits, wafers, filled and coated products, nibbling formats and emerging MILO Snacking technologies.
• Influence stakeholders across functions, factories and markets, without direct authority, to maintain alignment and move projects forward.

The role will lead manufacturing readiness and deployment coordination while working in partnership with Engineering, specialist technical teams and factories, who retain accountability for detailed equipment design, formal investment definition and factory execution.

What Will Make You Successful:

You will be qualified to degree level or higher in Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering or a related discipline, and have significant relevant experience within food manufacturing, process development, product development or industrialisation. You will ideally bring at least five years of relevant experience and have worked across both R&D and factory environments. Experience leading factory trials, scale-up or industrialisation activities from development through to commercial production would be highly valuable.

You will also:

• Have experience within food manufacturing, ideally in confectionery, bakery or a related product category.
• Understand manufacturing processes, equipment capabilities and scale-up principles.
• Be able to assess technical feasibility and translate concepts into practical manufacturing solutions.
• Have experience coordinating factory trials, process development, industrialisation or technology deployment.
• Understand the dependencies associated with equipment modification, capital investment and implementation.
• Demonstrate strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Be able to influence effectively across R&D, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, factories and co-manufacturers without direct authority.
• Make sound decisions when working with incomplete information, ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Communicate assumptions, risks, recommendations and decision requirements clearly.
• Have up-to-date knowledge of quality, food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Be curious, proactive, results-focused and comfortable working across functions, cultures and markets.
• Be willing to travel within Asia, Oceania and Africa, and globally where required, to support trials, factory engagement and project deployment.
