The Gender/GBVie Analyst will serve as the focal point for the coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of gender equality and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response initiatives, with a primary focus on the UNFPA Mindanao Earthquake Response in coordination with the Humanitarian Team Leaders in Cotabato and the Country Office. The Gender/GBVie Analyst will support the roll-out of gender and GBVie-related programmes, track progress, and report on results, while advancing strategies such as policy advocacy, institutional capacity development, community engagement, and the integration of gender perspectives across development, humanitarian, and peacebuilding (triple nexus) efforts.
The Gender/GBVie Analyst will also be responsible for ensuring that UNFPA interventions apply a human-rights-based and gender-transformative approach, promote gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI), and adhere to the principle of Leaving No One Behind (LNOB). The role includes providing technical guidance to government counterparts, implementing partners, and civil society organizations in designing and delivering interventions that are gender-responsive, culturally appropriate, and inclusive of marginalized and vulnerable groups, including women, girls, persons with disabilities, and indigenous communities. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Gender/GBVie Analyst will work closely with government offices in Mindanao including local government units (LGUs), civil society organizations, women’s groups, and sister UN agencies (e.g., UN Women, UNICEF, UNHCR, and WFP), as well as bilateral and multilateral donors, to strengthen coordination and expand the reach of GBV prevention and response services.
The Gender/GBVie Analyst, in consultation with the UNFPA Cotabato Sub-Office Head, will represent UNFPA in relevant coordination mechanisms in key Mindanao provinces and at the regional level, ensuring that sexual and reproductive health (SRH), gender, GBV, and inclusion issues are consistently addressed in policies, programmes, and humanitarian response plans.
The duration is for October 26, 2026 to February 28, 2027. This is a full-time consultancy and the individual is expected to work with the team from Monday to Friday.
