Embedded QA lead for one EDW delivery team. Owns quality for that team's backlog from refinement through release, leads the engineers assigned to the team, and is the team's single point of accountability for test coverage and release readiness.
Act as the QA owner for one delivery team: participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily scrum, review and retrospective.
Apply the shift-left, test-driven model: agree acceptance criteria and test design with the developer and business analyst before development starts, so tests lead and code follows.
Plan and estimate QA effort per work item; commit QA capacity at sprint planning and manage it through the sprint.
Lead and mentor the QA engineers assigned to the team; review their test designs, queries and defect reports.
Design and execute data validation, source to target, integration, regression and post-production checks across SSIS, dbt, Fivetran, Python ingestion and Databricks pipelines.
Own the team's quality gate results: confirm accuracy, latency, performance and security gates are met before each environment promotion and give the QA sign-off for release.
Log, triage and track defects in Azure DevOps; drive resolution with developers and communicate impact to the business analyst and product owner.
Track and report team level quality metrics: first-pass quality, defect escape rate, automated regression coverage and QA cycle time.
Coordinate knowledge transfer and shadow coverage during transition, and maintain the team's test assets and runbooks.
Lead root cause analysis for post-production defects affecting the team's scope and implement preventive test coverage.
Use AI/LLM-powered tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate test case generation, synthetic data and query review, validating AI-assisted output before use.
Communicate QA status, risks and release readiness to the Practice Lead and US stakeholders.
