Job Details

• Designation/Functional Level: Executive - WORKSHOP QA
• Educational qualifications and experience required: B E/ B Tech in Mechanical engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in inspection of fabricated parts pertaining to Boiler, pressure parts, cement, Sugar and Mining equipment and structures. Welding inspection. Additional qualification of NDT Level II is preferred.

Job Profile Requirements

Shall possess competency for:

• Implement approved quality plans and inspection procedures including, conducting regular inspections, executing quality assurance activities and drive closure of non-conformances.
• Participate with Section Head in determining new process and inspection techniques.
• Study manufacturing drawing, specification/codes and prepare inspection checklist / protocols / Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure compliance with set quality norms and other applicable standards.
• Ensure standardization of various processes and equipment for efficient quality control. Ensure up to date calibration of all test equipment to specified parameters.
• Prepare quality documents and Certificate of Conformity for submission to customers as per plan.
• Document contractual requirements relating to quality of new orders for review.
• Prepare checklists and protocols for quality inspection and track adherence to quality norms by quality team.
• Coordinate with external quality surveyor, testing labs for inspection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Production, Engineering, Purchase, etc. to meet overall quality objectives.
• Engage with TPIAs/Third party inspectors/Clients on quality related matters.
• Create awareness on material related quality issues / concerns in the Production by communicating with all departments on time.
• Prepare new reports in SAP for various activities like hours booking, review of inspection plans for accurate result recording, inspection notifications and GR clearances.
• Update SAP regularly and accurately, and record result and provide usage decision in SAP.
• Prepare quality reports to identify areas of concerns / issues and highlight to Section Head.
• Gather and record feedback in terms of root cause analysis for corrective action and preventive action (CAPA) and lessons learned.
• Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation as per set policy, procedures and guidelines.
• Keep self-abreast with changes in industry, changes in quality assurance and contribute to the identification of continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures.
• Instil a culture of continuous development and high performance within the own team.
• Set performance objectives of own team, evaluate / appraise team members and provide regular feedback & guidance.
• Evaluate Quality related training and development requirements for own team and make recommendations for learning interventions.

Other Requirements

• Knowledge of ISO 9001/45001/14001/50001 systems.
• Knowledge of Indian Boiler Regulation (IBR) and ASME codes, EN and IS codes.
• Knowledge of MS office, preparation skills.
• Effective collaboration & cross cultural teamwork.
• Knowledge of surface preparation and painting.
• Basic knowledge of carbon steel and alloy steel materials.
• Welding knowledge is essential.
