Job Description

About us | Mō mātou

ACC is a trusted and high‑performing organisation, providing care, supporting recovery and promoting injury prevention, now and into the future.

You can find more about ACC and the work we do at www.acc.co.nz

Role Overview

As the Senior Technical Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting and enhancing ACC's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) solution, ensuring it continues to evolve, improve, and deliver value across the organisation. Working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and external suppliers, you'll help solve challenges, enhance system capability and turn data into meaningful insights.

You will support the day-to-day operation of the ERM solution and act as a key point of contact for users, responding to support requests, maintaining approved configuration and reference data, assisting with data quality, and producing routine analytics and dashboards. The role also supports assurance activities by contributing to the testing of technical operational controls for both design and operating effectiveness.

If you enjoy owning solutions, influencing change and being a trusted technical expert that people rely on, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact in a role with enterprise-wide visibility and purpose.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day Level 2 support for the ERM solution, responding to user queries, troubleshooting issues, providing practical guidance, and escalating vendor or complex technical issues through the Operational Controls Technical Lead.
  • Complete routine ERM administration, including user and access support, reference-data updates, scheduled checks, record and data-quality assistance, dashboard maintenance, and support for regular business processes.
  • Deliver work according to priorities agreed with the Operational Controls Technical Lead and implement approved configuration changes in line with agreed standards, procedures, and controls.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and resolve system design, configuration, and data integrity issues that could impact reporting, assurance outcomes, or decision‑making.
  • Support the assessment of technical operational controls, providing assurance that they are appropriately designed, and are operating effectively.

Salary and Benefits

The appointing salary for this role is up to $110,000 - $125,000 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

  • Strong data analysis, reporting, dashboard development, and business intelligence capability.
  • Experience using reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. Exposure to SQL would be beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and identify practical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships across business and technology teams.
  • An understanding of, or willingness to develop, knowledge of ACC’s operating environment and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
