Claims transformation & operations specialist

We are seeking a Claims Transformation & Operations Specialist to join our New Zealand Claims team in a key role focused on operational excellence, process optimisation, and transformation delivery.

Reporting to the Head of Claims, New Zealand, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the claims function by improving productivity, strengthening consistency and controls, supporting digital and operational change, and helping ensure NZ Claims remains closely aligned to broader ANZ priorities. This is an exciting opportunity for a claims professional who combines strong operational insight with the ability to deliver practical change in a complex and evolving environment.

About the role

As Claims Transformation & Operations Specialist, you will help shape a more efficient, scalable, and high-performing claims function by:

• delivering key claims optimisation initiatives aligned to NZ and ANZ strategic priorities
• identifying and removing blockers to efficient and accurate claims handling and administration
• improving workflows, service consistency, operational controls, and ways of working
• supporting stronger performance across local and offshore teams
• leading approved digital and operational improvement initiatives
• enhancing onboarding, process documentation, and SOPs across the NZ Claims team
• coordinating operational audit responses and supporting TPA governance activity
• representing New Zealand requirements in regional and AU-led transformation initiatives

This role will suit someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, improving operational effectiveness, and working across stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

About you

• solid experience in insurance claims
• strong understanding of end-to-end claims operations
• experience in process improvement, operational uplift, change delivery, or transformation
• the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical, sustainable solutions
• strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
• excellent written and verbal communication skills, including SOP and process documentation
• a disciplined, delivery-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Experience in Property, Travel, or Accident & Health claims will be highly regarded, as will exposure to offshore teams, TPAs, digital initiatives, and broader claims transformation activity.
