As Senior Fashion Designer, you will help shape what comes next. Working closely with the Creative Director and product team, you will transform our iconic fabrics into contemporary collections for women and men. Combining creative vision with a hands-on approach, you will take designs from concept through to finished garments, building on our heritage while exploring new possibilities for Vlisco’s fashion identity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Co-develop seasonal collections with the Creative Director and product team, from initial concepts and storytelling through to final designs;
• Translate Vlisco’s distinctive prints and fabrics into contemporary designs and silhouettes for womenswear and menswear;
• Lead the design process, including sketching, prototyping, fittings and the refinement of silhouettes, construction and details;
• Work closely with the merchandiser to refine the range plan, balancing creative direction with product categories, collection structure and commercial needs;
• Bring fresh ideas, challenge existing concepts and contribute to the overall fashion direction;
• Collaborate with international suppliers and production teams to develop samples and bring designs to life while safeguarding the creative vision;
• Ensure high standards of fit, proportion, construction, craftsmanship and finishing throughout the design process;
• Contribute to the continued development of Vlisco’s fashion identity, product categories and long-term creative vision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 10 years of experience as a fashion designer within the high-end or luxury fashion industry;
• Proven experience at a senior level, combining conceptual thinking with strong hands-on design and development skills;
• A strong eye for silhouette, proportion and detail, with the ability to translate stories and emotions into distinctive, wearable designs;
• Extensive experience working with prints, textures and complex fabrics;
• A thorough understanding of the full design process, from concept development and sketching to fittings, sampling and production;
• The ability to balance creative ambition with commercial awareness and practical production requirements;
• A strong appreciation for craftsmanship, cultural heritage and the stories behind textiles and design;
• The confidence to work independently, take ownership and make well-considered creative decisions;
• A collaborative mindset, curiosity and the ability to thrive in an evolving creative environment.

• You will receive a 13th-month salary, 8% holiday allowance, profit bonus, and a pension scheme to which Vlisco contributes two-thirds of the premium.
