Project Manager II EDS
ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation united by a mission to bring new medicines and treatments to patients faster.
As a values-driven organisation, integrity, collaboration, agility, and inclusion are at the heart of how we work and interact with each other, customers, patients and suppliers.
We are looking for a Project Manager II EDS to strengthen our LCMS team in Assen. In this role, we are not only looking for someone with relevant scientific knowledge and project management experience. Above all, we are looking for a professional who maintains an overview, communicates clearly and takes responsibility. At the same time, this role requires flexibility. Priorities, schedules and circumstances can change. You are able to respond appropriately to these changes and support changes and improvements in a constructive manner.
You do not need to have an immediate answer to everything. However, we do expect you to be able to think critically, know where your strengths lie and recognise when you need help or additional expertise. You are able to cope with workload, are aware of your own limits and know how to manage these in a professional and sustainable way.
You get energy from finding solutions. With a scientific and pragmatic perspective, you look at what is possible, without losing sight of quality, regulations or agreements that have been made. You do not see change simply as something you have to deal with, but as an opportunity to further improve processes, collaboration and results.
As a Project Manager at ICON, you are responsible for the coordination of bioanalytical projects and ensure that they are carried out according to the agreed timelines, budgets, client expectations and quality requirements, including compliance with regulations such as GLP and GCP. You will be based onsite at Assen 60% of your work week.
You are an important link between the laboratory, internal stakeholders and our clients. In doing so, you combine scientific insight with project-based thinking: you analyse problems, ask the right questions, consider possible solutions and translate these into concrete actions. This requires someone who can reduce complex information to its core, both in Dutch and English.
In addition to your professional experience, we believe it is important that your way of working is suited to this position.
You communicate clearly and concisely in both Dutch and English. You can structure complex information, distinguish between main and secondary issues, and translate conversations into clear conclusions, agreements and action points. You know your strengths and are aware of areas in which you can further develop yourself. You are open to feedback and are willing to call upon the expertise of others when necessary.
You can function effectively when workload increases and different interests or deadlines come together. In doing so, you are aware of your own limits and of the effect of workload on your mental and physical capacity. You communicate about this and take timely action when necessary.
You approach problems in a structured and fact-based way. You ask critical questions, analyse the available information and reach well-founded conclusions.
When something does not go according to plan, you focus not only on the problem, but primarily on what is possible. You think in terms of alternatives and solutions, while continuing to safeguard quality, regulations and feasibility.
You understand that processes, priorities and organisations change. You can adapt to new circumstances, are open to improvement and help to move changes forward in a constructive way.
This position offers room for someone who wants to take responsibility and further develop themselves within project management and bioanalysis. You will work in an environment where scientific quality, client focus and collaboration come together, but where we also expect you to continue to look critically at how the work can be done smarter and better. We are therefore not looking for someone who simply ticks all the boxes. We are looking for someone who demonstrates ownership, communicates clearly, knows themselves, remains curious and, when faced with a challenge, asks: “How can we make this work?”
