Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic finance professional with an interest in hospitality? We are looking for an Assistant Business Controller to join our hotel team and support the Business Controller in a dynamic hospitality environment.

In this role, you will support the Business Controller and hotel management with day-to-day financial control, reporting and analysis. You will also be responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing. In addition, you will assist with month-end closing, financial reporting and audit-related activities, while helping to identify opportunities to improve financial performance. This is a great opportunity to further develop your finance skills and gain valuable experience within an international hotel environment.

Please note that all operational accounting activities are fully outsourced to Accenture.

Your key responsibilities

• Support the Business Controller with day-to-day financial and business control activities.
• Support the Business Controller with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Prepare financial reports and analyses and monitor key financial figures, costs and variances.
• Analyse differences between actual results, budget and forecast and highlight trends or discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning by collecting and analysing relevant data.
• Work closely with operational departments to identify and prevent financial discrepancies.
• Support financial controls, audits and follow-up on identified issues.
• Contribute to improving financial processes, reporting and controls within the Finance department.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and support financial projects and initiatives.

The position offers a gross salary in scale 8 of the Dutch Hospitality CLA, ranging from €3.500 to €4.000 per month based on 38 hours per week and experience;

• 25 holidays per year (based on FT employment, 38 hours per week);

Qualifications

Essential ingredients:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in finance, financial control or business control. Hospitality experience is a plus.
• HBO/Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Hotel Management or a related field.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills, with experience in financial reporting and analysis.
• Accurate, organised and hands-on, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with operational teams.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Dutch is a plus.
