Production supervisor

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a hands-on and performance-driven Production Supervisor to coordinate daily production activities and ensure that output, quality, safety, and efficiency targets are achieved.

The successful candidate will supervise production employees, allocate work, monitor equipment and materials, and promote disciplined compliance with operating and food-safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production activities in line with approved production plans.
• Allocate employees, equipment, and materials across shifts and production lines.
• Monitor output, downtime, waste, product quality, and labour productivity.
• Conduct shift briefings and communicate daily priorities and performance expectations.
• Ensure employees follow standard operating procedures and production specifications.
• Monitor raw-material availability and promptly report potential shortages.
• Coordinate product changeovers, cleaning, and production-line start-up activities.
• Identify production interruptions and work with maintenance teams to resolve them.
• Enforce health, safety, hygiene, food-safety, and environmental requirements.
• Investigate production variances, quality issues, and operational incidents.
• Maintain accurate shift, production, material-usage, and downtime records.
• Coach production employees and identify training or performance gaps.
• Support continuous-improvement, waste-reduction, and productivity initiatives.
• Coordinate with quality, maintenance, warehousing, and planning teams.
• Participate in stock counts, audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• Additional training in food safety, occupational health and safety, or lean manufacturing will be an added advantage.
• At least 4 years of production experience in agro-processing, food manufacturing, FMCG, or a related environment.
• A minimum of 2 years supervising production employees or shift operations.
• Practical understanding of production planning, quality control, waste management, and equipment utilisation.
• Experience working with food-safety or quality-management systems is preferred.
• Ability to interpret production schedules and maintain accurate operational records.
• Strong team-leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, or public holidays when required.
• High standards of discipline, accountability, safety, and attention to detail.
