Key responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance

• Maintain and improve HR policies, procedures, systems, and employee records
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal HR standards
• Produce HR reports and keep employee data accurate and confidential

Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding

• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment with external providers, along with onboarding and offboarding
• Support workforce planning and role design with the Managing Director and managers

Employee Relations & Performance Management

• Give employees and managers practical HR advice
• Support managers on performance, conduct, attendance, and employee-relations matters
• Lead or assist with conflict resolution, investigations, grievances, and disciplinary processes
• Coordinate goal-setting, probation reviews, and performance reviews

Benefits, Leave & Payroll

• Administer employee benefits and leave
• Work with the external payroll provider and check payroll data for accuracy and timely processing

Learning, Development & HR Projects

• Coordinate training and development with operations managers
• Lead HR projects (e.g. pay transparency, setting up a performance-management system), review their impact, and recommend practical improvements to make HR more effective and compliant

Candidate requirements

• 5-8+ years of hands-on HR experience, ideally across several HR areas
• Proven track record as a Senior HR Generalist, HR Manager, or HR Business Partner
• Strong advantage: experience as a fully hands-on HR Manager in a mid-size company, balancing strategic and growth priorities with day-to-day HR operations
• Strong background in employee relations and performance management
• Solid knowledge of payroll coordination, benefits, leave administration, and HR systems
• Demonstrated end-to-end management of recruitment and onboarding
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder-management skills
• Sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise projects alongside daily tasks
• Ability to advise and constructively challenge managers while partnering with senior leadership
• A discreet, practical, employee-focused approach
