• Good scripting skills in Bash and Python
• Database administration, configuration and basic querying skills
• Real life skills of following the infrastructure as code principles
• 3+ years of leadership experience with a production system on any cloud platform
• Familiarity with Docker & Kubernetes
• Interest in big data, scalability, high throughput systems, high availability
• Queue system (RabbitMQ, AWS SQS)
• Monitoring (NewRelic, ELK, Prometheus)
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Scrutinizer)
• Knowledge with Ansible, Terraform
• Network configuration, DNS, VPN

Main job responsibilities

• Analyze the technology currently being used and develops plans and processes for improvement and expansion
• Approve code, implement processes, and improve deployment to streamline and speed up daily work
• Manage development of automation tools, infrastructure as code and other infrastructure related necessities
• Recommend performance enhancements by performing gap analysis, identifying alternative solutions, and assisting with modifications
• Participate in project planning meetings to share the knowledge of system options, risk, impact, and costs vs. benefits
• Write specifications and documentation
