ROLE SUMMARY:

King's College School Latvia is a premier British International School located in the scenic community of Saliena (Piņķi), just outside Riga. As a proud member of the Inspired Education Group, we deliver the English National Curriculum to a diverse, multicultural student body.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the English National Curriculum for Key Stage 2 (Year 4).
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Differentiate teaching methodologies to accommodate diverse learning styles, including supporting English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners.
• Plan, prepare, and collaborate on curriculum development alongside the Primary team and the Form entry parallel teacher.
• Lead timetabled Outdoor Learning sessions utilizing the school's private forest to deliver experiential, hands-on lessons.
• Monitor and assess student progress regularly, using data to provide constructive, timely feedback to pupils and parents.
• Maintain strong, positive communication with parents, keeping them active and informed partners in their child's education.
• Implement excellent classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior, mutual respect, and a strong sense of community.
• Actively participate in the wider school life, including contributing to extracurricular clubs, community events, and house activities.
• Uphold the highest standards of child protection and student well-being in strict compliance with Safer Recruitment and safeguarding policies.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education, PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent).
• Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 2 (KS2), with specific experience in Year 4 being highly advantageous.
• Solid knowledge and experience implementing the English National Curriculum.
• Native-level professional fluency in written and spoken English.
• Strong tech-literacy and experience integrating educational technology effectively within daily classroom lessons.
• A proactive, creative, and collaborative mindset, with a passion for holistic and experiential education.
• An adaptable and globally-minded attitude, thriving within a multicultural and dynamic international school environment.
