Job Description:

An international construction group with active projects in Jordan is looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant to maintain complete and accurate fixed asset records and prepare the monthly accounts of assigned companies.

• Maintain the fixed asset register from acquisition to disposal
• Verify purchase invoices, approvals and delivery records before recording additions, and distinguish capital expenditure from operating expenses
• Prepare monthly depreciation entries and reconcile the asset register to the general ledger
• Record approved transfers, disposals and write-offs and calculate the resulting gain or loss
• Coordinate asset tagging and periodic physical verification with the responsible teams
• Prepare monthly customer and intercompany invoices from approved contracts, rates and supporting records
• Complete month-end entries and prepare monthly profit and loss statements, financial position and supporting schedules
• Complete bank reconciliations and prepare receivable and payable aging reports
• Reconcile intercompany balances and material balance sheet accounts

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, including fixed assets
• Strong knowledge of capitalization, depreciation and IFRS
• Experience preparing monthly accounts, bank reconciliations and intercompany balances
• Experience with customer invoicing and receivable aging
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA or CMA) and construction/contracting experience are an advantage
