Promotions & Events Co-ordinator

Purpose of Position

To ensure that the planning and execution of promotions and events are done effectively and efficiently. To supervise the activities of the promotions unit on behalf of WBS.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that promotions whether in store or at events are executed effectively and efficiently in accordance to specific guidelines stipulated by the Marketing Manager and the Brand Managers.
• Conduct site visits as well as attend promotions and events to ensure the effective execution.
• Utilize initiative and creativity to find ways to always stand out at events.
• Train all promoters, annually, in effective promotions techniques, product information and GK’s code of ethics.
• Perform any other duties delegated from time to time to maintain a high level of efficiency within the department.

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing & Sales, Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications or related discipline
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Promotions, Marketing or Sales of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), preferably in the Grocery or Food Industry
• Excellent grasp of Microsoft Suite of products, with intermediate Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills
• Good working knowledge of social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Knowledge of SAP Software, is an asset
