Senior Engineering Manager, Site Reliability & Platform Automation
We have an opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager, Site Reliability & Platform Automation to join our SaaS Platform Engineering team in Bangalore, India, reporting to the Senior Director, Site Reliability & Platform Engineering. In this pivotal role, you will build and lead a new team of engineers responsible for advancing reliability engineering, platform automation, and self-service capabilities across Infoblox’s global cloud networking and SaaS platforms. Collaborating closely with DevOps, CloudOps, product engineering, architecture, security, and product management teams, you will establish a measurable reliability practice, reduce operational toil, and help product engineering teams own more of their DevOps lifecycle. You will also champion the responsible use of AI-assisted tools to improve engineering productivity, operational analytics, automation, and incident decision support.
Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do
- Build and lead a high-performing team of nine engineers while recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and developing team members in parallel
- Define and execute the team charter, roadmap, operating model, and delivery priorities across reliability measurement, toil automation, resilience testing, and self-service enablement
- Establish reliability practices across High Availability, SLO/SLI, Error Budgets, Chaos/DR Testing, Change Management Governance, Incident Response, Observability, and Application Team Performance & Capacity Tuning
- Define SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, reliability targets, and evidence-based maturity measures for critical and core services
- Partner with product engineering teams to improve observability, capacity planning, incident response, change safety, and production readiness
- Reduce operational toil across NA DevOps, IN DevOps, and CloudOps Engineering by automating CVE remediation, EKS and RDS upgrades, third-party provider testing, and recurring infrastructure workflows
- Establish a measured baseline for keep-the-lights-on work and drive reduction from approximately 48% of capacity toward the organization’s 29% target
- Build golden paths, Terraform modules, and Kyverno policies that enable product teams to provision and operate services independently
- Shift ownership of deployments, operational readiness, SLOs, and routine DevOps activities toward the teams that build and own the services
- Lead intake and prioritization across four engineering teams, communicate trade-offs, and report progress against committed wave dates
