Primary Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy, Vision & Delivery
    • Partner with Product Leadership to define and execute the roadmap for the Payer Agentic Platform (PAP) and its portfolio of AI-powered payer solutions
    • Translate strategic objectives into actionable product requirements, technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans
    • Drive execution across platform capabilities, reusable services, and agent-specific initiatives including Benefit Inquiry, Pricing Inquiry, Policy Inquiry, Prior Authorization, and future agent use cases
    • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, data, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable platform capabilities that accelerate time-to-market and maximize reuse
    • Ensure all product investments align to measurable business outcomes, operational efficiencies, and customer value
  • Platform & Technical Product Management
    • Own the technical product lifecycle from ideation through deployment and operational readiness
    • Partner closely with engineering teams to define functional and non-functional requirements, APIs, integration patterns, platform services, and system dependencies
    • Drive backlog refinement, prioritization, sprint planning, and release orchestration across multiple development teams
    • Collaborate with architects to define scalable platform patterns supporting agent orchestration, grounding, retrieval, workflow automation, and interoperability across enterprise systems
    • Ensure platform capabilities support configurability, extensibility, governance, security, and future expansion of the PAP ecosystem
  • Agentic AI Product Delivery
    • Support delivery of AI-powered experiences leveraging LLMs, agent orchestration frameworks, knowledge grounding, workflow automation, and decision support capabilities
    • Partner with Product Managers and Data teams to define evaluation criteria, quality measures, performance benchmarks, and monitoring strategies for AI-driven solutions
    • Help establish repeatable delivery processes that accelerate development and scaling of new payer agents
    • Drive implementation of responsible AI practices, transparency requirements, and governance controls throughout the product lifecycle
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Lead cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data Science, Operations, Compliance, and Business stakeholders
    • Coordinate execution with internal Optum teams and strategic external partners
    • Manage inter-team dependencies, identify risks, remove blockers, and ensure alignment across multiple workstreams
    • Represent technical product priorities and delivery progress in leadership reviews, steering committees, and operational governance forums
  • Program Execution & Delivery Management
    • Develop integrated release plans, dependency maps, and milestone tracking across PAP initiatives
    • Ensure product increments are delivered on time, meet acceptance criteria, and align with business commitments
    • Drive issue resolution and escalation management across engineering and business teams
    • Support Alpha, Beta, Production, and commercialization readiness activities
  • Performance Measurement & Reporting
    • Define and monitor KPIs tied to:
      • Product adoption
      • Agent accuracy and performance
      • Delivery predictability
      • Platform scalability
      • Feature utilization
      • Operational efficiency
      • Business impact
    • Provide executive-ready updates on roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and milestone achievement
  • AI Tool Utilization
    • Utilize Microsoft M365 Copilot to accelerate backlog creation, user story development, acceptance criteria generation, documentation, and test planning
    • Leverage Teams Copilot to streamline stakeholder communications, meeting follow-ups, action item management, and dependency tracking
    • Utilize AI-enabled product management tools such as Aha!, Rally, and other platform capabilities to improve

Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 11+ years in healthcare services, healthcare technology, or software development, Product Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of Technical Product Management, Product Management, or equivalent technology delivery experience
  • 5+ years of experience working directly with software engineering teams in Agile environments
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical requirements, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience managing product backlogs, roadmaps, releases, and cross-functional delivery efforts
  • Experience working with cloud-based platforms, APIs, system integrations, and enterprise applications
  • Proven solid communication and stakeholder management skills with both technical and business audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare payer experience including benefits, eligibility, claims, policy, utilization management, or prior authorization domains
  • Experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), orchestration frameworks, or conversational AI solutions
  • Experience delivering platform-based products that support multiple downstream applications and use cases
  • Experience working with AI product evaluation, governance, and responsible AI practices
  • Experience managing dependencies across multiple product and engineering teams
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud, Azure AI, API-driven architectures, and integration frameworks
  • Proficiency using Microsoft M365 Copilot and AI-enabled product management tools to accelerate product delivery
  • Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive decisions
