About the Team

The Market Intelligence (MI) team of ESS provides external market, supplier, competitor and technology intelligence to support better sourcing and category decisions. We work proactively with category teams to identify opportunities, risks and market shifts early, translating intelligence into actionable insights.

I. Job Summary:

The primary purpose of the Market Intel Analyst role is to execute and support Market Intelligence projects. The individual is expected to work in conjunction with Enterprise Strategic Sourcing category leaders & teams and with Market Intel leaders. This position is focused on providing market research, reports/analytics, insights and intelligence as required.

II. Roles & Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

• Does external secondary research for various Category owners and recommends benchmarks based on the external market, internal spend, key metrics and contractual data.
• Owns specific Market Intelligence trackers/dashboards – category, supplier, regional, etc. Ensures they are refreshed on time and insights are delivered to respective stakeholders.
• Pulls and analyzes data associated with historical/current spend to support market intelligence, benchmarking and category research as required.
• Supports Market Intelligence analysis across categories – both reactive and proactive.
• Consolidates data for key metrics reporting and Market Intelligence deliverables.
• Supports data modelling and enrichment exercises required for Market Intelligence and benchmarking.
• Increases accuracy of data used for Market Intelligence analysis and reporting.
• Supports supplier intelligence, including vendor financials, ISG (Information Security Group) analysis and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) data analysis.
• Supports Market Intelligence tools, processes and ways of working as assigned.
• Follows up with stakeholders and communicates key market, supplier and category insights/changes.
• Supports configuration and enhancement of Market Intelligence tools and solutions.
• Helps reduce turnaround time of Market Intelligence research, analysis and reporting.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

V. Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (Must have)

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• 3 years of business experience
• Proficiency in market research and data analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Proficiency in data collection, collation, analysis, and visualization
• Proficiency in collaboration and communication
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI
• Working knowledge of procurement and sourcing tools
• Basic knowledge of AI and its applications in research and analysis

Secondary Skills (Preferred)

• Exposure to sourcing and procurement
• Cost optimization experience
