Your Opportunity

This position focuses on the administration, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise geospatial data and related Esri services. Working with authoritative datasets, enterprise geodatabases, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro, you will help ensure geospatial information is secure, reliable, compliant, and effectively managed by the business throughout its lifecycle. By supporting geospatial data governance, platform administration, and operational controls, you will contribute to the quality, resilience, and long-term sustainability of Stantec’s enterprise GIS environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Analyze GIS platform performance, usage patterns, and service trends to identify issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Contribute to GIS data governance standards and practices, and monitor, assess, and report on compliance - metadata, data quality, lifecycle management, access controls, and information security practices.
• Evaluate the quality, integrity, and consistency of enterprise geospatial data, with a focus on authoritative datasets and sustainable data management practices.
• Administer and support ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and related Esri services in accordance with established operational procedures.
• Respond to and help manage Esri-related incidents, service requests, licensing, and administrative activities through ServiceNow in a timely and effective manner.
• Analyze, investigate, and resolve Esri software and service issues and liaise with Esri support and stakeholders as required to identify root causes and appropriate resolutions.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Strong knowledge of GIS principles and geospatial data management in desktop, server, and online environments.
• Strong working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and related Microsoft and SQL Server technologies – to the extent needed to fulfill this role.
• Experience with the use and management of geospatial data in file-based and database formats.
• Understanding of GIS data governance, metadata, data quality, lifecycle management, access controls, and information security practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and workload management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively across globally distributed teams.
• Experience supporting enterprise Esri platforms and related GIS infrastructure is an asset.
• Experience leading people, service delivery activities, project teams, or technical workstreams is an asset.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, work management platforms, reporting tools, and related technology solutions is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Geomatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of practical GIS experience.
• Experience performing GIS analysis and working with diverse geospatial data types, including remote sensing products.
• Experience with GIS data backup, recovery, and resiliency practices is an asset.
