Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

We are seeking a dynamic leader to drive Mahindra Group’s growth through strategic acquisitions, partnerships, and alliances. This role will involve identifying high-value opportunities, structuring deals, and performing thorough due diligence. As DGM, you will work closely with senior leadership to align deals with long-term business objectives and ensure seamless execution with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • M&A Strategy Development: Formulate and drive the group’s M&A strategy, aligning with long-term business goals and growth priorities.
  • Opportunity Identification: Scout for acquisition targets, partnership prospects, and divestiture opportunities that align with strategic priorities.
  • Deal Lifecycle Management: Lead the complete deal process—due diligence, financial modelling, valuation, negotiations, and deal closure.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams (strategy, finance, legal, HR, and operations) to ensure smooth evaluation, execution, and integration.
  • Strategic Insights: Provide actionable insights to executive leadership on market trends, competitive landscapes, and new business opportunities.
  • External Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with external advisors, investment banks, legal teams, and consultants to streamline deals.
  • Market Research & Business Intelligence: Stay on top of industry trends and emerging opportunities to shape M&A strategies and corporate investments.
  • Corporate Strategy Support: Assist with broader strategic initiatives, including joint ventures, strategic investments, and alliances beyond M&A.

Experience

7+ years of experience in corporate development, M&A, front-end investment banking, private equity, or similar fields. Proven success in leading the full M&A process—deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modelling, valuation, and integration.

Industry Preferred Qualifications

CA or Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field (MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred).

General Requirements

  • Financial Acumen: Expertise in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and strategic analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills to articulate complex ideas effectively to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Leadership & Project Management: Strong leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment with shifting priorities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of competitive landscapes, market trends, and industry dynamics.
