About this role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle OSM/UIM Application Operations professional to provide hands-on operational ownership of telecom fulfilment and provisioning services. This role focuses on maintaining service stability, achieving SLA/KPI targets, supporting order fulfilment processes, ensuring inventory integrity, and driving operational excellence across Oracle Order and Service Management (OSM) and Unified Inventory Management (UIM) platforms.
Based in Pune, the successful candidate will contribute to incident recovery, problem management, proactive monitoring, automation initiatives, and continual service improvement. The role also supports the responsible adoption of AI/AIOps capabilities to enhance service reliability, troubleshooting effectiveness, and operational efficiency within telecom OSS environments.
What you will do
Oracle OSM/UIM Technical Operations
- Provide hands-on operational support for Oracle OSM and UIM environments supporting telecom fulfilment and provisioning services.
- Manage and troubleshoot order orchestration, decomposition workflows, task execution, inventory allocation, service activation, and fulfilment dependencies.
- Investigate and resolve stuck orders, order fallout, orchestration exceptions, provisioning failures, and inventory inconsistencies.
- Perform operational diagnostics using application logs, SQL, Oracle databases, and Unix/Linux environments.
- Analyse OSM order states, workflow tasks, and fulfilment exceptions to support timely order recovery.
- Investigate UIM inventory allocation, reservation, reconciliation, and data integrity issues impacting customer services.
SLA, Incident, Problem and Service Reliability
- Deliver operational support in line with agreed SLA and KPI commitments.
- Lead technical activities during high-priority incidents, including triage, evidence collection, restoration, and escalation management.
- Conduct structured root cause analysis and problem management activities to reduce recurring incidents and operational risks.
- Monitor application health, order processing performance, interface queues, inventory exceptions, and service reliability indicators.
- Support change implementation activities, service health verification, and operational readiness assessments.
Automation, AI/AIOps and Continual Improvement
- Develop and maintain automation solutions for health checks, diagnostics, reporting, housekeeping, reconciliation, and routine operational tasks.
- Utilise Shell scripting, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL to improve operational efficiency.
- Support automation of approved order recovery and remediation processes using controlled operational mechanisms.
- Improve observability, alert quality, fault isolation, and operational performance through monitoring and trend analysis.
- Contribute to AI/AIOps initiatives including anomaly detection, event correlation, incident summarisation, knowledge recommendations, and assisted order remediation with appropriate governance and human oversight.
Operational Governance and Stakeholder Coordination
- Participate in operational reviews covering performance, incidents, risks, monitoring, backlog management, capacity, and continuous improvement plans.
- Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, SOPs, knowledge articles, and known error databases.
- Collaborate with application, middleware, database, infrastructure, provisioning, network, and service management teams to resolve complex operational issues.
- Support audit, compliance, governance, and operational reporting requirements.
Who you are
Essential Technical Experience
- Proven hands-on Application Operations experience supporting Oracle OSM and/or Oracle UIM within telecom OSS environments.
- Strong understanding of telecom order orchestration, fulfilment processes, provisioning workflows, and order fallout management.
- Experience supporting OSM order lifecycle management, decomposition workflows, exception handling, and order recovery processes.
- Experience managing UIM inventory allocation, inventory reconciliation, reservation management, and inventory integrity activities.
- Practical operational troubleshooting experience with Oracle WebLogic supporting OSM/UIM applications.
- Strong hands-on Unix/Linux administration knowledge.
- Proficiency in Shell scripting, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL for troubleshooting, reporting, and operational automation.
Secondary Technical Experience
- Application log analysis and end-to-end troubleshooting across application, middleware, database, and interface layers.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk, Datadog, or Zabbix.
- Understanding of integration patterns across OSS, BSS, provisioning, activation, and inventory systems.
- Exposure to Informix databases and associated operational support activities.
- Knowledge of performance, resilience, availability, and service recovery management.
Professional Competencies
- ITIL-aligned Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.
- Experience handling critical production incidents and major service restoration activities.
- Structured approach to root cause analysis and preventative action planning.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working within SLA/KPI-driven operational environments.
- Understanding of AI/AIOps concepts and their practical application in Application Operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Typically 7+ years of overall industry experience with significant telecom OSS and Application Operations exposure.
- Demonstrated success supporting production environments for Oracle OSM and/or Oracle UIM applications.
- Experience delivering automation, operational improvements, and service reliability enhancements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
