We are currently seeking a Configuration Senior Specialist-App Packaging to join our team in Noida, Uttar Pradesh (IN-UP), India (IN).

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Application Packaging Engineer to join NTT DATA's India EPM practice. This senior role combines deep technical packaging expertise with delivery leadership — driving complex packaging programmes, defining tooling and automation standards, mentoring junior packagers, and serving as the SME for enterprise application packaging across NTT DATA's global client accounts. The Senior Packaging Engineer is a key technical anchor for the India packaging team, supporting SCCM/Intune-based packaging operations for clients across the US, EMEA, and APAC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Packaging Platform Leadership

• Lead enterprise application packaging programmes — defining scope, methodology, tooling selection, and delivery timelines for large-scale projects (500+ application packages).
• Architect the packaging platform including tool configuration, template standards, repository structure, and quality gate processes.
• Define and govern the packaging factory model — intake, assessment, packaging, testing, and deployment pipeline for managed client environments.
• Evaluate and recommend packaging tooling — AdminStudio, Advanced Installer, MSIX Packaging Tool, App-V, PSF — based on client environment and application portfolio.
• Lead MSIX migration programmes — assessing MSI/EXE portfolios for MSIX suitability, defining conversion strategy, and overseeing bulk conversion.

Advanced Technical Packaging

• Handle the most complex packaging scenarios including multi-instance applications, COM/COM+ server registration, kernel-mode driver packaging, and enterprise licensing systems.
• Develop custom MSI packages from scratch using WiX Toolset with advanced features — UI customisation, custom actions, rollback sequences, and merge modules.
• Design and implement PSF-based MSIX fixup frameworks for complex compatibility remediation at scale.
• Build App-V connection group strategies for interdependent virtual application portfolios.
• Develop packaging automation frameworks — PowerShell-based batch repackaging, automated assessment, and quality validation pipelines.

DevOps & Automation Integration

• Design and implement CI/CD packaging pipelines using Azure DevOps — automated package build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Develop Graph API-based automation for Intune bulk app uploads, policy assignment, and deployment reporting.
• Build SCCM PowerShell automation for bulk application import, deployment creation, and compliance reporting.
• Integrate packaging workflows with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow) for automated request intake, status updates, and SLA tracking.
• Develop and maintain automated regression test suites for packaged applications using Pester or similar testing frameworks.

Mentorship & Governance

• Serve as technical lead and L3 escalation point for complex packaging incidents and compatibility issues.
• Mentor Grade 6–8 packaging engineers — conducting technical reviews, coaching sessions, and hands-on knowledge transfer.
• Define packaging quality standards, SLA frameworks, and peer review processes for the India packaging team.
• Participate in client governance reviews, delivery calls, and packaging programme steering meetings.
• Contribute to SOW development, effort estimation, and technical proposal input for packaging engagements.

Client Engagement

• Engage with client application owners, security teams, and IT architects to define packaging standards and deployment strategies.
• Present packaging programme status, quality metrics, and risk items to client delivery management.
• Advise clients on MSIX adoption strategy, application portfolio rationalisation, and Modern Deployment readiness.
• Identify opportunities to expand packaging services and contribute to NTT DATA EPM practice development.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Enterprise application packaging — MSI, MSIX, App-V, .intunewin — expert level across all formats
• WiX Toolset — advanced custom MSI authoring, custom actions, UI customisation, merge modules
• MSIX + PSF — large-scale portfolio migration, PSF fixup framework development, compatibility analysis
• AdminStudio / Flexera — advanced usage including repackager, editor, AAC, and tuner modules
• Intune + SCCM deployment engineering — Graph API automation, advanced application models, CI/CD integration
• PowerShell — advanced automation, packaging factory pipelines, Graph API, SCCM SDK
• Azure DevOps — CI/CD pipeline design for automated packaging build, test, and deployment
• Application compatibility — deep expertise in ACT, PSF, shims, Windows 10/11 compatibility analysis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator (MD-102) — required or equivalent
• Flexera AdminStudio certification or equivalent packaging tool qualification
• Experience with Liquidware ProfileUnity, FSLogix, or user environment management in packaging context
• Prior India-based senior packaging lead experience for global enterprise accounts (500+ app portfolio)
