About this role

We are seeking a Telecom Billing Operations Engineer to provide hands-on L2 operational ownership of telecom billing platforms and billing-cycle activities. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of bill runs, invoice processing, call/CDR handling, reconciliation activities, and exception management while maintaining SLA and KPI commitments. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing, rating, mediation and integration issues, contribute to automation and AI-enabled operational improvements, and support governance, compliance and continual service improvement initiatives. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with 2 to 5 years of Telecom IT, BSS or enterprise billing application operations experience and strong production-support expertise.

What you will do

  • Billing Operations & Bill Run Processing: Own the day-to-day operational health and technical support of billing processes within the assigned service scope.
  • Invoice Posting & Downstream Processing: Monitor invoice generation, validation, posting, extraction and delivery to document management, printing and reporting platforms.
  • Call / CDR Processing: Monitor daily call, event and CDR processing, including rating and re-rating activities.
  • Discrepancy Management & Billing Assurance: Analyse discrepancies across customer, plan, discount, billing profile, usage, invoice, payment and accounts receivable data.
  • Incident, Problem, SLA & Service Management: Lead L2 technical triage and restoration activities for priority billing incidents.
  • Automation, AI & Continual Improvement: Develop and enhance automation for health checks, validations, reconciliations, batch monitoring, alerting and operational reporting.
  • Operational Governance & Knowledge Management: Provide concise operational status updates covering SLA/KPI performance, bill-cycle status, incidents, discrepancy trends and improvement activities.

Who you are

2+ years of Telecom IT, BSS or enterprise billing application operations experience with strong production-support responsibility.

Hands-on experience with telecom billing platforms such as Oracle BRM, Amdocs, Kenan, Geneva/SingleView, BSCS or equivalent billing solutions.

Proven experience in bill-run processing, invoice generation and posting, call/CDR processing, billing assurance and discrepancy management.

Strong Unix/Linux administration and Shell scripting capabilities.

Advanced SQL and PL/SQL knowledge for troubleshooting, data validation, reconciliation and operational automation.

Experience working with application logs, batch processing, schedulers, file-processing systems and database troubleshooting.

Understanding of integrations between CRM, mediation, billing, invoicing, payment, reporting and document management systems.

Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, Zabbix or similar platforms.

Knowledge of ITIL-based Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request processes.

Familiarity with billing assurance, reconciliation controls, audit readiness and operational governance.

Strong analytical thinking, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

ITIL certification or billing-platform certifications are desirable.

Exposure to SRE practices, cloud technologies, containerised services and AIOps capabilities would be advantageous.
