Key Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of GST and other indirect tax laws in India.
  • Strong analytical, liaisoning, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable, in-depth experience in Indirect tax issues.

The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and government authorities to ensure timely and accurate compliance with GST and other indirect tax laws. High integrity and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities –

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns, reconciliations, and other statutory filings.
  • Monitor changes in indirect tax laws and implement necessary changes in processes and systems.
  • Maintain documentation and records as per statutory requirements.

Litigation & Representation:

  • Handle indirect tax assessments, audits, and litigation.
  • Draft replies to notices, appeals, and represent the company before tax authorities.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel and consultants for complex litigation matters.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with finance, legal, supply chain, and business teams.
  • Liaise with external consultants, auditors, and government authorities.
  • Support statutory audits and internal audits related to indirect taxes.

Education:

Chartered Accountant (CA) or LLB with specialization in Taxation.

Experience:

4–5 years of post-qualification experience of indirect tax compliance, advisory and litigation in Big4/MNC/High volume company.
