Product Management

The candidate will be responsible for driving the overall growth of AUM and the increase of penetration of Managed Solutions in BOS Hong Kong. This includes the advisory and distribution of mutual funds, in-house Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) solutions, and Alternatives solutions, encompassing hedge funds and private markets strategies (private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate funds).

The candidate will lead and manage a team of Product Specialists, partnering closely with the HK Front Office and CIO-offices in SG and HK to deliver comprehensive public and private wealth investment solutions to BOS Hong Kong clients.

In partnership with the Head of Managed Solutions Advisory in SG and the Head of CIO-HK, the candidate will oversee all regulatory, governance, and controls-related activities associated with the advisory and distribution of Managed Investment products in Hong Kong, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal bank policies.

Duties in Hong Kong

• Responsible for all HK regulatory and audit matters related to all managed solutions in HK.
• Manage the MSA business in HK, working closely at the enterprise level with the CIO-SG and CIO-HK teams for Managed Investments (including mutual funds, hedge funds, private markets and in-house DPM services.
• Develop and align the recommendation framework for managed solutions to the CIO’s overall asset allocation models (including the Whole Portfolio Approach) to achieve outperformance versus appropriate benchmarks (if any).
• Be a liaison between Funds Selection, Alternatives, DPM teams and Front office to articulate investment philosophy, process, performance, positioning and market outlook, as well as proactively identifying opportunities and client interest, and manage the pre-sale product training and post-sales review where necessary.
• Communicate relevant funds-related information, timely investment ideas, themes and risks to the business and front office network.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with funds partners to obtain investment ideas and flow information contribute to overall managed investments pipeline development and proposals.
• Engage internal stakeholders and management to enhance sales & related processes and procedures.
• Comply with all internal and regulatory policies and procedures related to the MSA business in HK.
• Ensure all team members adhere to compliance, policies, procedures and guidelines including alignment with BOS’s culture, values and behaviours.
• Using data analytics and AI tools to analyse business data and trends for planning and strategic initiatives.
• Facilitate the interaction between fund houses with Fund Selection and Alternative Investment teams.
• Provide leadership, training, coaching and mentorship to the direct MSA team members in HK.
• Participate and lead strategic projects locally and regionally to deliver improved client experience.

Global MSA Duties

• To work closely with the Global Head of MSA and all members of the CIO Management Team to ensure consistency of sales and advisory messaging (investment risks and themes/ investment ideas) and alignment on product development and pipeline.
• To join the MSA Management Team representing the MSA business in HK.

Work Experience

At least 15 years of relevant sales experience in managed investments (mutual funds, alternatives products and discretionary portfolio management services), of which at least 5 years obtained in the Hong Kong Private Banking industry including ability to understand fundamental and technical factors affecting the products.

Prior experience working with relationship managers and high net worth trading clients is an advantage.

Prior managerial experience in leading a team and working in a global, matrixed business.

Strong understanding of local regulations related to a managed investments business in Hong Kong.

Excellent communication skills

Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese)

Possess high conduct credentials, ethics, honesty and integrity which align with the BOS’ desired culture, values and behaviours.

Education Requirements

Well recognized university degree, preferably with a CFA or other relevant post graduate qualifications.

Preferable for candidates with HKIB Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) professional qualification.
