Wood is currently sourcing for an Senior Human Resources Coordinator to join our local team in Ghana, at this stage it is an "Expression of Interest" from candidates who wish to confirm their interest.

The Senior Human Resources Coordinator will ensure a positive customer experience and take accountability for managing queries effectively and closing out each in a timely manner, by providing advice, support and guidance across the full HR spectrum. The role provides a variety of generalist HR services necessary for the entire employee life-cycle including recruitment, selection, assignment and motivation of qualified employees for their area of the business.

Please note this position is only open to National Ghana personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Human Resources Coordinator will ensure a positive customer experience and take accountability for managing queries effectively and closing out each in a timely manner, by providing advice, support and guidance across the full HR spectrum. The role provides a variety of generalist HR services necessary for the entire employee life-cycle including recruitment, selection, assignment and motivation of qualified employees for their area of the business.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Human Resources Operations

  • Act as the primary HR contact for Ghana-based employees, contractors, and offshore personnel.
  • Coordinate and administer all employee lifecycle activities from hire-to-retire, ensuring a positive employee experience.
  • Prepare, issue, and administer employment contracts, contract amendments, offer letters, and employment documentation.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure accurate HR documentation in accordance with company standards and local legal requirements.
  • Support onboarding and induction activities for local and expatriate employees.
  • Coordinate employee exits, offboarding, and final employment documentation.

Employee Relations

  • Provide first-line HR support and advice to employees and managers on employment-related matters.
  • Support the management of employee relations matters including disciplinary processes, grievances, investigations, absences, and performance-related issues.
  • Ensure employment practices are compliant with Ghana labor legislation and company policies.
  • Promote positive employee engagement and support workforce wellbeing initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and managers to foster a positive working culture.

Offshore Workforce Support

  • Coordinate offshore personnel logistics, mobilization, demobilization, crew changes, and rotational workforce requirements.
  • Liaise with operations teams to ensure personnel readiness for offshore assignments.
  • Monitor certification, training, medicals, offshore competency requirements, and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct offshore visits as required to support employee welfare, engagement, onboarding activities, and HR-related matters.
  • Support offshore operational teams with workforce planning and staffing requirements.

Payroll & Timekeeping Support

  • Work closely with Finance and Payroll teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs including new hires, salary changes, allowances, overtime, offshore premiums, leave, and employee deductions.
  • Validate employee timekeeping and attendance information prior to payroll processing.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and resolution of employee payroll queries.
  • Ensure statutory deductions and payroll-related documentation are completed accurately and on time.

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Process employee transactions and organizational changes within Oracle.
  • Support data integrity, system governance, and reporting requirements.
  • Generate routine HR reports, workforce data, and employee metrics for management.
  • Partner with Shared Services and regional HR teams to resolve HR system and data-related issues.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with Ghanaian labor legislation, employment regulations, and company policies.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and client HR requirements.
  • Monitor employee documentation, work permits, visas, and statutory records where applicable.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information.
  • Support implementation of HR policies, procedures, and governance requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop strong working relationships with operational leaders, Finance, Payroll, Recruitment, Shared Services, and regional HR teams.
  • Act as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers within Ghana operations.
  • Escalate complex HR matters appropriately while ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Support communication and implementation of HR initiatives and organizational change activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

  • Certificate in Human Resources Management
  • Diploma in Human Resources Management.
  • Several years experience in generalist Human Resources Management within a dynamic organisation
