Transport administrator

Here at GXO, we’re recruiting a Transport Administrator to join our busy dynamic Home Delivery team in Doncaster, DN4 5PD.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time role, working 5 days out of 7, shifts patterns include:

• 04:30 – 13:00
• 06:00 – 14:30
• 10:00 – 18:30
• 12:30 – 21:00

As a Transport Administrator, you will receive:

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Coordinate daily transport operations, ensuring planned deliveries, trunking and shunting activities are completed efficiently and on time
• Allocate drivers, vehicles and workloads, monitoring fleet movements and responding quickly to delays or operational issues
• Support and communicate with drivers, providing briefings, guidance and ensuring they have the correct paperwork, equipment and route information
• Maintain safety and compliance, including drivers’ hours, Working Time Regulations, vehicle checks, defect reporting and company procedures
• Monitor performance and maintain accurate records, including transport KPIs, delivery issues, customer complaints, shift handovers and daily/weekly reporting

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and error-free work
• IT literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Excel
• Experience using transport systems, Flexipod/Winsight, Vision, Telematics, with previous experience in logistics advantageous
• Flexible, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
