Position Summary

Senior Programme Manager responsible for co-leading a portfolio of complex, enterprise-wide technology transformation programmes from mobilisation through delivery, adoption and value realisation. The role will connect business strategy, technology delivery and organisational change, providing the leadership, governance and programme discipline required to deliver sustainable outcomes across multiple functions and technology domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Programme Leadership and Governance: Design and lead programme governance, reporting and decision-making forums spanning multiple technology domains and business functions. Establish clear accountabilities, decision rights, escalation routes and delivery controls, ensuring leaders have an accurate view of progress, risks, dependencies, financial performance and outcomes. Own and maintain integrated programme plans, budgets, resource forecasts, milestone roadmaps and dependency maps across technology workstreams. Use robust programme controls to monitor delivery performance, identify variance and drive timely corrective action. Partner closely with business leaders, technology teams, HR, Finance, Procurement and other enabling functions to align end-to-end plans, resource requirements, organisational impacts and financial assumptions, ensuring delivery remains connected to business outcomes and value realisation. Build trusted relationships with C-suite and senior stakeholders, presenting complex programme information in a clear, concise and decision-oriented way. Facilitate alignment on priorities, trade-offs, investment choices and escalations, constructively challenging where required to protect programme outcomes. Co-lead a cross-functional matrixed programme team. Create clarity of purpose, roles and accountabilities; build an inclusive, high-performing team environment; and resolve delivery barriers across organisational boundaries.
  • Strategy, Planning and Value Realisation: Structure delivery into clear tranches, stage gates and review cycles. Use benefits data, adoption metrics, delivery evidence, financial performance and the risk outlook to recommend whether investments should continue, accelerate, redirect or stop. Ensure decisions are documented and translated into updated plans.
  • Cross-Domain Stakeholder Management and Communications: Lead programme-level communications and stakeholder engagement across multiple domains, tailoring messages to executive, functional, technical and end-user audiences. Establish feedback mechanisms, monitor stakeholder alignment and address resistance or misunderstanding before it affects delivery or adoption.
  • Risk, Dependency and Change Management: Identify, quantify and actively manage programme-level risks, dependencies and issues across technology, data, process and people dimensions, protecting business continuity. Integrate change management workstreams (organisational change, communications, training, digital mindset and adoption) with project and technical delivery plans, using GSK transformation frameworks and toolkits.

Success Measures:

Success in the role will be measured through predictable delivery against agreed scope, milestones and budget; effective management of enterprise risks and dependencies; timely and transparent decision-making; measurable business adoption and benefits realisation; and sustained stakeholder confidence in programme outcomes.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading complex, enterprise-scale technology or business transformation programmes in a global, matrixed organisation.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-workstream delivery, senior stakeholders, substantial budgets, third-party partners and complex dependencies from mobilisation through implementation, adoption and benefits realisation.
  • Degree in technology, engineering, business, supply chain or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with technology-enabled operating model, data, digital or ERP transformation would be advantageous.
  • Programme/portfolio management and/or transformation-related certifications desirable.
