  • Maintain oversight of technical procedures, methods and standard operating procedures, ensuring these remain current and compliant.
  • Oversee personnel competence, training, technical authorisations and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Undertake and oversee technical audits of laboratory and site-based activities, including blind Stage 2 rechecks of four-stage clearance (4SC) work.
  • Monitor technical quality performance, including internal QC, proficiency testing and technical audit outcomes, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Lead or support investigations into technical nonconformities, incidents and complaints, ensuring effective root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Work closely with the Quality Coordinator to maintain and continually improve the QMS.
  • Keep abreast of changes to legislation, standards, UKAS requirements and industry guidance and ensure relevant changes are effectively implemented.
  • Promote a strong culture of technical quality, integrity, impartiality and continual improvement across the asbestos business.
  • Travel to Element locations and client sites as required to undertake technical audits, competence assessments and quality assurance activities.
