Job Title: Head, Global Market Access and Pricing

Job Purpose:

Lead the Global Market Access and Pricing function for ViiV Healthcare, building access and pricing strategies for the current and future portfolio. Working with cross-functional partners, the role ensures payer, HTA and pricing requirements are embedded early in asset strategy, target product profiles, Brand strategy, Integrated Evidence Plans, development decisions, value communication and launch readiness, enabling broad and timely access for people living with HIV and people who could benefit from prevention while protecting long-term portfolio value.

Deliver strategic market access and pricing recommendations for pipeline assets, including early input into target product profiles, evidence generation, forecasting and asset strategy. Ensure Payers/HTA agencies recognize and reward future HIV innovation. Sustain and optimise the value of the portfolio. Prepare for emerging competition and lifecycle opportunities. Provide strategic leadership and ensure effective monitoring and navigation of the evolving external pricing and market access landscape. Lead robust and disciplined price governance decision making for price setting and maintenance globally. Accelerate digital, data and AI-enabled market access ways of working. Lead, coach and develop a high-performing global market access and pricing organization. As a key commercial leader within ViiV and a member of the Global Commercial Strategy Leadership Team, the role provides an enterprise leadership opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio access and value strategy & execution

Design global product and portfolio pricing and access strategies that support access for PLHIV and PWBP while delivering long-term value for ViiV Healthcare. Lead development of differentiated payer value propositions, value communication tools, pricing strategies and access plans for launch, pipeline and lifecycle assets. Partner with R&D, Commercial, Medical/Health Outcomes, RWE, Government Affairs, Policy, Finance and Regional/Local teams to ensure payer insights and requirements are embedded early within asset strategy and development decisions. Ensure Payer insights and needs are represented in strategy development, forecasting, launch & indication sequencing, integrated evidence generation plans, business planning, and launch excellence processes. Support Region and key LOCs with pricing & access strategy localization, launch preparation and launch risk mitigation. Optimise global-to-local ways of working through best-practice sharing, performance metrics, clear accountabilities and integration with pricing and HTA trends. Execute plans effectively through Region and LOC plans, focusing on excellent operationalisation and implementation of strategy. Ensure a clear focus on outcomes and behaviour change, not activity. Deliver measurable positive impact of pricing and access strategies on product and portfolio outcomes.

External environment

Increase payer, HTA and policymaker receptivity to the value of HIV innovation. Monitor payer, HTA, policy, pricing and competitor trends globally, and distil implications with scenario planning and recommendations as appropriate.

Pricing governance and value preservation

Chair and evolve the global Price Governance framework, overseeing price setting, price maintenance and alignment to global access and pricing strategy. Document, monitor and assess the effectiveness, risk and financial exposure of pricing and access decisions, escalating insights for proactive management as required.

Leadership, talent and capability

• Lead the Global Market Access and Pricing team
• Attract, recruit, onboard, retain and develop diverse talent and expertise, using clear objectives, development plans and coaching for each team member.
• Enhance performance culture, challenger mindset, decision-making courage and accountability across the global market access function.
• Build organisational capability to support pricing and market access excellence.

Digital, data & operational excellence

• Leverage analytics, knowledge management, digital and AI-enabled capabilities to enhance the impact, quality, consistency and efficiency of market access deliverables.
• Identify opportunities to simplify ways of working, scale high-quality payer materials and strengthen evidence synthesis and insight generation.
• Allocate resources across priority workstreams, balancing capacity, capability, risk and future strategic need.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Health Economics, Economics or Business
• Significant experience in Market Access, Pricing, HEOR (Health Economics and Outcomes Research), Reimbursement, Policy, Commercial Strategy or related disciplines within multinational pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare organizations.
• Experience developing and implementing global or regional pricing and access strategies, with working knowledge of US payer and market access systems.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and matrix teams across multiple functions and geographies, and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders to support business decision-making.
• Experience generating payer insights and developing pricing and market access strategies, reimbursement submissions, health economic evidence packages, real-world evidence (RWE) studies, value dossiers, access forecasts, and launch plans.
• Experience delivering pricing, reimbursement, market access, or commercial objectives in complex global environments involving multiple stakeholders, markets, and competing priorities.

• Ability to lead and influence complex inter-company and cross-functional leadership teams across multiple stakeholder organizations.
• Proven ability to effectively engage executive management in high stakes decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholder groups.
• Ability to translate operational challenges into structured plans while ensuring cross-functional input and alignment.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and balance responsibilities.
• Experience conducting and analyzing market research & managing consultancies.
