Franchise trade planning and events manager

As our Franchise Trade Planning and Events Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how we engage customers, drive sales growth and deliver standout trading moments across our international Franchise estate.

Reporting to the Head of Franchise, you'll develop and implement the Franchise trade strategy, creating innovative promotional plans, seasonal campaigns and customer-focused events that differentiate M&S in the market. Working closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, Marketing and Trade Planning teams, you'll use data, insight and commercial thinking to unlock new opportunities and maximise performance.

We're looking for someone who combines critical thinking with strong delivery, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is passionate about turning insight into action.

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

• Develop and deliver the Franchise trade plan, using customer, market and trading insights to drive sales growth and commercial performance.
• Create and implement compelling promotional campaigns and trading events that increase customer engagement and establish clear market differentiation.
• Lead seasonal and peak trading strategies, ensuring Franchise maximises performance across key commercial events throughout the year.
• Analyse trading results and customer behaviour to evaluate campaign effectiveness and shape future activity plans.
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Commercial, Supply Chain, Marketing and Trading teams to ensure magnificent execution of key initiatives.

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

• Proven experience in trade planning, commercial planning or retail trading, with a strong background of driving sales and profitability.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate data, insights and market trends into actionable strategies.
• Experience developing and delivering promotional campaigns, seasonal events or customer-focused trading initiatives.
• Excellent partner management and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships across multiple business functions.
• Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
