Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week working 8am - 4.30pm

As an FM Services Operative in our Justice and Immigration Facilities Management team, you'll help maintain a safe, secure, and well-functioning environment at HMP Doncaster. Your work will support the day-to-day operation of the prison through planned and reactive maintenance activities, helping ensure facilities remain fit for purpose for everyone who uses them.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. Working as part of a multi-skilled facilities management team, you'll contribute to creating an environment that supports rehabilitation, wellbeing, and positive outcomes. What you'll do as a FM Services Operative

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site in line with safety and compliance requirements.
• Support a range of general maintenance tasks, including repairs across multiple trades within your skills, experience, and training.
• Work closely with engineers and other facilities management colleagues to complete multi-trade maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of planned and reactive works using handheld technology and update asset information as required.
• Ensure maintenance schedules are kept up to date and completed within agreed timescales.
• Support the prison's rehabilitative culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across facilities management operations.

Does this sound like you?

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent trade-based qualification.
• Experience carrying out maintenance and repair activities within a facilities management, engineering, or similar environment.
• Able to work independently, prioritise workloads effectively, and use your own initiative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted working relationships.
• Flexible, proactive, and committed to delivering excellent service and continuous improvement.

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
