Junior Adventures Group (JAG) is looking for enthusiastic Playworkers/Activity Leaders to join our casual bank team in Watford! 🌈⚽🎨

This is a fantastic opportunity if you’re looking for flexible childcare work now, with the potential to move into more regular and permanent hours in the future as positions become available.

WHEN WILL YOU WORK?

Our term-time operational hours are:

🌅 Breakfast Club: 7:30am–9:00am

🌈 After School Club: 3:00pm–6:00pm

Up to 22.5 hours per week may be available during term time, depending on the sessions you cover.

As a casual bank team member, you’ll help cover:

• ✅ Staff sickness
• ✅ Staff holidays
• ✅ Busier sessions
• ✅ Additional staffing requirements

And the exciting part? 💛

👉 More permanent hours will be offered when they become available, giving you the opportunity to develop your role with JAG.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a JAG Playworker, no two days are quite the same!

You’ll:

• ⚽ Plan and deliver fun activities including sports, games, arts & crafts and structured play
• 🌈 Create an inclusive environment where every child feels welcome and involved
• 💛 Supervise children and ensure they are safe, happy and having fun
• 🍎 Prepare and provide refreshments
• 🧩 Set up and pack away play spaces and equipment
• 🛡️ Follow safeguarding, health & safety and first aid procedures
• 📝 Complete sign-in/out processes and relevant records
• 🤝 Build positive relationships with children, parents, schools and your team
• 😄 Bring energy, enthusiasm and plenty of fun to every session!

This role requires compliance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) policy and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.

You must provide two references, one from your most recent employer and the other from a childcare setting (if applicable). We will conduct a DBS check on your behalf, so please prepare the correct documentation.

Appointment is subject to satisfactory DBS and suitability checks.
