What you’ll do

In this pivotal leadership role as Market Access Head, you will shape and drive AstraZeneca’s Market Access strategy in Finland, ensuring sustainable patient access to life-changing medicines across our portfolio. You will lead the development of compelling, evidence-based value propositions and oversee hospital tender, HTA and reimbursement submissions, while turning changes in the healthcare landscape into actionable strategic insights. Alongside this, you will inspire, develop and empower a dedicated Market Access team, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion and high performance.

Typical accountabilities

• As a member of the Finland Country Leadership Team, jointly shape and deliver the country strategy, enterprise priorities and sustainable business performance, bringing the Market Access perspective into portfolio, investment and resource-allocation decisions.
• Provide enterprise leadership beyond the Market Access function, constructively challenge and align senior stakeholders, and lead cross-functional decisions and trade-offs that optimise patient access, portfolio value and long-term growth.
• Act as a senior decision-maker and escalation point for material access, pricing and contracting matters, balancing patient access, business value, compliance, financial implications and long-term sustainability.
• Anticipate future healthcare, policy and access scenarios and translate them into strategic choices, risk mitigation and investment recommendations for the Finland business and the broader organisation.
• Represent Finland and the company in strategically significant internal and external forums, shaping the access environment and strengthening Finland’s position as an attractive market for innovation and future investment.
• Own and provide strategic direction for pricing, reimbursement, contracting and access strategies across the Finnish portfolio.
• Set priorities and ensure effective execution of major access initiatives, submissions, re-evaluations, tenders and payer engagements.
• Lead engagement with reimbursement authorities, payers, ministries, procurement bodies and other influential partners.
• Monitor market, policy, regulatory, political and competitive developments and translate insights into portfolio and pricing recommendations.
• Ensure effective governance, compliance, operating standards and capability development, resource planning across the Market Access function.

Essential requirements

• 7+ years of pharmaceutical Market Access experience, including experience at global and regional level.
• Strong experience in Pharmacoeconomics, HTA, pricing, reimbursement and payer strategy.
• Proven success with innovative contracting, value development and payer engagement.
• Demonstrated experience in shaping the external environment ahead of successful submissions and access decisions.
• Strong leadership, influencing, communication, writing, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated enterprise perspective through strong cross-functional collaboration, with ability to position Finland as an attractive market for future investment.
• Strong track record in leading and developing teams in a complex matrix environment.
• You regularly use approved AI tools to draft, explore, analyze and improve.
• Fluency in Finnish and English, written and spoken.
