Job Description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Help Desk Tier I/II - Junior Network and Computer Systems Administrator to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve a diverse range of IT issues across multiple networks/system, including a full range of classifications and caveats, ranging from hardware and software challenges to network and application concerns. This position will be located in Djibouti, Djibouti, and will be an on-site position.

Responsibilities

  • Resolves technical problems and answers queries by telephone or e-mail in support of internal and/or outside customer computer hardware, software, network, and telecommunications systems.
  • Diagnoses, identifies, isolates, and analyzes problems utilizing guidelines and prescribed solutions.
  • May route calls to product line specialists.
  • Maintains and updates records and tracking databases.
  • Alerts management to recurring problems and patterns of problems.
  • Responsible for investigating and identifying computer hardware and software related problems.
  • Effectively communicates step-by-step solutions to end-users.
  • May need to communicate with software and hardware specialists for solutions.
  • Records solutions into the database for other Help Desk professionals.
  • Redirects issues to appropriate resource if necessary.
  • Must be knowledgeable of current technological issues and advancements.
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network/system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Writes or modifies basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks.
  • Recommends changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determines hardware or software requirements related to such changes.

Qualifications

  • High School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience).
  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI.
  • Required Skills and Experience: High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience).
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or higher certification (copy presented with application).
  • Current and active U.S. Passport.
  • Current and active U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment, including a protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor, and chemical/biological protective garments.
  • Must be medically/physically fit for deployment with U.S. Military Forces Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) under the provisions of USCENTCOM Medical Standards.
  • Proven experience in IT support roles, with a focus on Tier 1 and Tier 2 support.
  • Demonstrated experience using ticketing systems to log, track, and resolve user issues.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification (copy presented with application).
  • Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Microsoft 365 certifications.
  • Experience working in a SCIF.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Military Special Operations.
