Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips
Working for tomorrow today.
Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.
As a Development Engineer, you will play a key role in developing next-generation EUV lithography systems, enabling future semiconductor technology nodes. You will combine deep expertise in laser physics with system engineering, industrialization, and technical leadership of external partners.
In this role, you will:
You may bring several years of industrial experience in laser-system development and industrialization, or a PhD in the field of laser physics, photonics, or a related field with the motivation to transfer advanced laser technology into a demanding industrial application.
You have a strong understanding of laser physics and optical systems, including experience with laser frequency stabilization or closely related laser-control technologies.
Experience in laser-system industrialization, technology transfer into production, or collaboration with external development and manufacturing partners is an advantage.
Programming skills in Python and/or Matlab is an advantage. You enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and are able to drive technical topics with conviction and a solution-oriented mindset.
You are comfortable taking ownership of complex technical challenges and influencing stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
