Business controller

TRATON Financial Services CER is part of the international TRATON GROUP, one of the world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. Across the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, we provide captive financial services for Scania and MAN. Our team of around 50 professionals across three countries supports the financing needs of customers and the growth of both brands.

As we continue to develop an integrated dual-brand TRATON Financial Services CER organization, we are looking for a Business Controller who wants to help shape how we understand, report and steer our business.

Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Finance Director TRATON Financial Services CER, you will work across both brands and all three CER markets. We are looking for someone who goes beyond producing numbers: someone who wants to understand what is driving the business, investigates when something does not make sense, and turns financial detail into clear management insight. This is a broad, hands-on role with direct exposure to senior management and real opportunity to improve how we work.

What you will do

• Lead monthly management reporting, including performance analysis, commentary, and preparation of the management pack.
• Analyze the P&L, balance sheet, financing portfolio, and key business drivers — not only identifying what changed, but explaining why it changed, what it means for the business, and where management attention is required.
• Drive and coordinate forecasting, budgeting, and business planning, challenge assumptions, and translate outcomes into clear management information.
• Act as a proactive finance partner to Brand Directors, Credit & Collection, Accounting, and other key stakeholders.
• Support month-end closing and relevant IFRS and Group reporting, including actuals, forecasts, and plans in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and other Group systems.
• Build and improve financial models, dashboards, reporting tools, and planning templates.
• Help improve reporting quality, data granularity, automation, process efficiency, and cross-brand transparency across the region.

What you bring

• 5+ years of relevant experience in controlling, FP&A, finance business partnering, or a comparable finance role.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, management accounting, and IFRS.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to connect financial results with underlying business drivers.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Confidence working with and presenting to senior management and non-finance stakeholders.
• University degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
• Business-fluent English.

You are a self-starter who takes ownership, moves topics forward without waiting for detailed instructions, and is willing to dig deeper when something does not make sense. You communicate clearly, challenge constructively, and can distinguish between detail and what really matters for the business.

Additional advantages

• Experience in financial services, banking, leasing, or captive finance, including understanding of financing portfolios, funding, and interest income/expense.
• Experience with HFM or similar consolidation/reporting systems, SAP and/or Power BI.
• Experience with Think-Cell, VBA, AI-enabled finance tools, or reporting automation.
• German language skills.
• Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA.
