Key Accountabilities

Validate that rebate schemes for each eligible customer are set up correctly in SAP or any other systems by commercial teams. Review and validate that system rebate accrual proposals are in line with customers' sales contracts, and follow through with commercial teams to propose any required adjustments to accruals. Where there is discrepancies, identify the root causes and proactively resolving such discrepancies to mitigate recurrences. For non-system calculated rebates within designated scope of responsibility, obtain and analyze sales data, calculate accruals and obtain approvals. Deliver monthly sales rebate accruals (SAP and manual calculated), submit journal, and preview general ledger/reports or perform posting to ensure the expenses are accounted correctly and timely in the General Ledger. Reconcile rebates owed and rebates paid for each customer to propose payments during the year where required by agreements and settlement that occurs at defined time period. Provide information required by Sales or commercial team and customers on rebate payments and target achievement/gap (during year). Reconcile rebates as requested by customers for audit purposes. Ensure correct allocation of rebate credit notes per company policy and customer request. Communicate and align with commercial teams to understand changes in rebate schemes and programs, and validate if operational procedures requires changes to manage the rebates accruals, reconciliation, payout and settlement processes. Review calculations performed by O2C Rebate Analyst/Specialist to confirm accuracy and adherence to the terms of the applicable rebate schemes or any other contractual terms. Provide training to new team members, coach and mentor O2C Rebate Analyst / Specialist in the subject matter.

Essential Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in either Financial Planning & Reporting or Accounting Operations, or Record-to-Report
• Experience in commercial operations involving rebates
• Advanced skills in using Excel
• Strong knowledge in SAP and other financial systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and able to analyze large data sets to generate insights.
• Strong knowledge in rebate mechanism or related topics that demonstrate understanding of the subject matter or business.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex subjects to non-experts on multiple organizational levels.
• Proficient in English. Where support is for a specific country requiring local language, proficiency in the local language is a must.
• Experience in reviewing and analyzing customer contracts or any legal documents.

Desirable Experience

• Have experience in rebate and knows how rebates schemes and programs work.
• Understands how to read and interpret contracts.
• Understands impact of rebate and how it intelinks with financial statement.
• Able to communicate with Bus.
• Handle complex rebate schemes / calculations - multiple schemes, large data sets, and multi-frequency schemes
• Validator of calculations - know when things are not correct
• Ensures accuracy and compliance
