DESIGN WHAT COMES NEXT

Join our Industrial Oil & Gas team in Calgary and help transform concepts into reality through innovative piping design solutions. As a Junior Designer / Drafter, you will work alongside experienced designers and engineers on complex industrial projects, developing the technical skills and practical experience needed to build a successful career in engineering design. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects while learning from industry experts in a collaborative and supportive environment.

YOUR IMPACT

• Assist senior designers with drafting activities, document reviews, and technical design tasks.
• Review engineering information, specifications, mark-ups, and technical documentation to support accurate and compliant designs.
• Develop piping models and detailed drawings under the mentorship of experienced designers and engineers.
• Maintain project records and documentation while supporting project schedules, quality objectives, and delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to resolve design challenges and contribute to successful project outcomes.
• Continuously expand your technical knowledge of piping design, drafting standards, and engineering best practices while building a strong foundation for career growth.

THE SKILLS THAT SET YOU APART

• Diploma or certificate in Engineering Design, Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 1 to 5 years of experience in drafting and design within industrial, oil and gas, engineering consulting, or related environments.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and experience producing detailed engineering and piping drawings.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, P&IDs, drafting principles, and industry design standards.
• Experience with, or a strong interest in, 3D modelling and design software used within industrial environments.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately incorporate design revisions and mark-ups.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with project teams and stakeholders.
• A commitment to safety, quality, continuous learning, and professional development.

COMPENSATION

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500 – $76,200 MB & ON: $52,500 – $72,300 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $52,000 – $69,000 Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
